DAY 19 - GO-KARTS

tonight was fun! a bunch of us went to go ride go-karts and i had a blast! it's been so long since i've driven a go-kart...

DAY 18 - EDITING

shooting a video everyday really takes up time. i've got several weddings that i've been putting off longer than i should. so today's video is of me working on a wedding.



the music is really corny and it doesn't fit at all, but i wanted to use it anyway :)

DAY 17 - STORM CLOUDS

i was really excited about the video today - a storm was on its way, so i was going to get the clouds as they were moving in. unfortunately it started pouring so i had to grab the camera and run inside. here's what little of the clouds i got...

DAY 16 - FULL MOON

full moon tonight! you can't really tell, but this is another time lapse video. it would've been awesome if there were some clouds passing by or something, but instead, it was a pretty still night.

DAY 15 - CALEB AND ABBY

today's video is for my niece and nephew! hopefully they'll get to see this!



tonight i'll be on my way to miama, ok for a wedding rehearsal! the wedding is tomorrow and i'm really excited about it! i love outdoor weddings!

DAY 14 - THE BACKYARD

this is quite possibly the lamest video on my blog so far. i was mainly wanting to show some kind of depth of field in this one. i promise tomorrow's video will have more 'substance' to it.



on a side note, katie and i went to best buy tonight and i got to play with canon's new 7d camera! i've really been wanting one, but this was the first time i actually got to hold one in my hands and play with it! i'm totally in love now and i'll definitely be saving my money!

DAY 13 - DIY DOLLY

i like dolly shots so here's a quick one. this dolly i made myself, and today i rigged up a motor to roll the dolly down the rails on it's own! now my dolly shots will always be a consistent speed! woohoo! i'm very proud of my dolly.

DAY 12 - TORTURE TEST

this video might seem a little weird, but trust me, it's all in good fun. me and a couple of friends wanted to see what the chinese water torture was like. what's involved in chinese water torture you ask? well, you get strapped down and 1 drop of water hits you in the forehead every few seconds. it doesn't sound like much, but it's supposed to be pretty bad.

this is just a really short clip - i plan on going back and editing everything together later.

DAY 11 - THE RUBIK'S CUBE

i know, i know... you can't see my face, but this really is me solving the rubik's cube! and even though the video is going almost twice as fast, i did manage to solve it in a little over 4 minutes. i thought the music was a good touch too :)

DAY 10 - THE SINGING

what a busy weekend! among all of the things that went on, the singing we had was by far the best! we sang out of the new song books for a couple of hours on saturday and then also sang for a while on sunday afternoon. here's just one of the many songs that we sang lead by charles barnes - he always does a great job leading songs.

DAY 9 - FAMILY REUNION

today's video was from my family's reunion. nothing real creative again today - just threw something together real quick. enjoy :)

DAY 8 - FRIENDS

tonight was a party for austin and tiffany. it was fun getting together with everybody and eating good food. mason even got to try out the camera for a little bit :)



tomorrow is going to be a busy day! lots of stuff going on! i've got the camera charging...

DAY 7 - THE PARK

after work today, me and steven hutchison went to the park in ozark to shoot some video and take some pictures. i wasn't feeling very creative, and besides, it was super hot outside.



the very last shot of this video is very deinterlaced (or interlaced, whichever it is). i still haven't quite figured out how to fix this problem. i know what causes it, but don't know what to do about it yet.

DAY 6 - THE STORM

a storm sneaked up on me today at work. luckily i had my camera with me! the electricity went out and you'll understand why it did - i guess a transformer got hit by lightning, but to me, it looked like aliens were landing across the street. whatever it was, i was so excited i got it on video!



it was a pretty strong storm! lots of wind, lots of rain and lots of hail. perfect conditions for tornadoes!!

DAY 5 - A MAGIC TRICK

today i decided to show you all a magic trick. if you think you know how it's done, leave your ideas in the comments! keep in mind, there weren't any camera tricks involved with this video - you would see the same thing as if you were sitting there with me.

DAY 4 - MOLLY

i'm already starting to realize that shooting a video every day is going to be a tough thing to do. the plan today was to shoot a video of some kids, but that ended up not working out. instead, i shot a really quick video of our dog molly. there's nothing fancy about this video but hey, i got my video in for the day, right?

DAY 3 - THE CHEVELLE

i'm excited about todays video! got finished shooting it a few minutes ago - now i just need to edit it and upload it! can't wait for everybody to see the finished edit! if you're a car guy, you'll especially enjoy it :)

here's my dad's 1969 chevelle. the audio was from a drag race back in 1971 of this actual car. pretty neat stuff.

the video didn't turn out exactly like i wanted it to, but the editing was taking a lot longer than i had wanted to spend on it, so i just threw everything together pretty quickly. maybe later i'll go back and spend some more time on it and get it how i want.

DAY 2 - BREAKFAST

a friend told me a few weeks ago that i'm obsessed with time-lapse videos. maybe she's right... here's a quick time-lapse of breakfast this morning.

and yeah, you'll probably see quite a few time-lapse videos throughout the year. i really like them.

DAY 1 - IT STARTS

today i am starting a new challenge for myself. what's the challenge you ask? every single day for a whole year i will shoot a video and upload it here. every video i post may not be anything spectacular, but at least it will get me moving and thinking about different ways to be creative.

the first video will be posted tonight! please leave encouraging comments if you want to... i'm sure i'll get tired of this challenge just like every other project i've decided to do haha. the comments will hopefully keep me accountable the whole way through :)



this was friday night in downtown springfield. caught the show at the skinny improv and then walked around a bit at the square afterwards. it was a pretty fun night!
