we made it to alabama with no problems! we're living with kevin and bethany presly until we find an apartment or rental house. i found a lizard in their backyard today.

DAY 111 - ON THE ROAD TO AL
i discovered that i don't like to drive big trucks. but katie, on the other hand, does! i drove the first 2 hours, and she drove the last 11. crazy, i know.

i honestly didn't think katie would be able to back the u-haul up into our driveway, but she proved me wrong! she always surprises me :)

this was our last time katie and i got to spend with my parents before we moved to alabama. we're gonna miss gong over there every sunday afternoon.

ava likes her tinkerbell a lot! i think we watched tinkerbell on youtube 4 or 5 times while she was visiting. she's such a cutie!
DAY 106 - CARDBOARD CASTLE
alexis frizzell and her two kids came to visit for a few days before katie and i moved off to alabama. tonight ava and i made a castle out of cardboard boxes! it was lots of fun!

it's labor day!! and what better way to celebrate a holiday than to get to play with a new camera?! my brother-in-law brad dixon let me play with his nikon d5000 today. i like this camera a LOT! it shoots in 720p, 24fps and since it's a DSLR, you get some good depth of field with the lenses. today's video is from his camera.

today i experimented with the tilt-shift effect. i don't actually have a tilt-shift lens, so i tried faking it in post. it didn't turn out too great - i think the effect would've looked better if i was higher up. i'll try it again some other time.

today katie's parents got into town for the labor day weekend. i almost forgot to do my video for the day so i shot something real quick.

tonight was really exciting! there was a pretty bad storm in the area - so bad, they suggested that everybody take cover.

i love love love today's video! first of all, because these peaches were probably THE BEST peaches i've ever had, and second of all, i really loved how this video turned out. it just seems so clean.
